Assistant Finance Officer in Lisburn

Your new company Hays are recruiting on behalf of a well-established public sector organisation based in Belfast. Due to ongoing organisational requirements, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Finance Officer to join the team on a part-time basis. Your new role You will provide vital support across a range of finance and administrative functions, helping to ensure the effective operation of financial systems, controls and reporting processes. Key responsibilities will include: Supporting the finance function in accordance with established financial procedures and controls. Processing ad hoc payments and financial transactions. Assisting with month-end processes, including journal postings and preparation of management accounting information. Reconciling general ledger accounts and preparing financial reports and analysis as required. Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts, reconciliations and associated financial documentation. Assisting with procurement administration, maintaining records and supporting tendering activities. Providing information and supporting documentation for internal and external audit requirements. What you'll need to succeed Accounting Technician Qualification is preferred. Experience preparing and maintaining nominal ledgers, including journal processing. Experience completing complex reconciliations and contributing to month-end reporting processes. Experience using a financial accounting system (Account NI desirable) Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel. What you'll get in return Competitive salary equivalent to £33,542 - £34,231 (pro rata). Part-time working arrangements of 14.8 hours per week across two days.
