Your new company Hays Construction & Property are recruiting on behalf of one of Northern Ireland's leading construction contractors for a Health & Safety Officer to join a major long-term programme of works at a high-profile manufacturing facility in Derry/Londonderry. Renowned for delivering award-winning projects across the commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, pharmaceutical and fit-out sectors, our client has built an excellent reputation for quality, safety and successful project delivery throughout the UK and Ireland. This is an immediate requirement, offered on a long-term temporary contract basis through Hays, with a competitive hourly rate and weekly pay.

Your new role involves working closely with site management and project teams, ensuring health, safety and compliance standards are maintained across a range of construction and refurbishment works within a live manufacturing environment. Key duties will include:

  • Conducting site inspections and safety audits.
  • Reviewing and monitoring RAMS documentation.
  • Delivering site inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses.
  • Maintaining health & safety records and compliance documentation.
  • Supporting subcontractors and site teams with safe working practices.
  • Promoting a positive health & safety culture across site operations.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a construction, engineering or civil engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of site inspections, audits, RAMS and health & safety procedures.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive and practical approach to health & safety management.
  • CSR Card or equivalent site accreditation.
