ROLE: Handyperson
LOCATION: Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre
Hours: 40PW
Role Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive general maintenance across the site.
- Support engineers with both planned and reactive maintenance tasks when required.
- Perform building fabric maintenance, including painting and decorating.
- Clean external areas such as pathways and grounds, including litter picking.
- Complete gritting of paths and roads, and support snow clearance operations.
- Undertake basic locksmith duties.
- Escort FM visitors, suppliers, and subcontractors around the centre.
- Carry out additional duties as directed by the Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- A reliable, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload.
- Comfortable performing physical and practical tasks.
- Eligibility for enhanced vetting and security clearance (British Citizen, EU Settled Status or ILR, 3 years UK residency, no criminal history).
Desirable Qualifications
- Forklift licence or experience operating a forklift.
- Painting and decorating skills.
- Health & Safety awareness.
- Experience in building fabric maintenance, joinery, or locksmithing.
