An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Assistant to join a large-scale enterprise system transformation programme within a complex, fast-moving organisation. This role will suit someone who enjoys working at the heart of change - supporting procurement activity, analysing spend, improving processes and helping stakeholders transition to new systems and ways of working.

Working closely with a central programme team and senior procurement stakeholders, you will play a key part in ensuring procurement activity is efficient, compliant and aligned to new systems and best practice. You will be involved in the end-to-end procurement life cycle, data and reporting, and supporting users through a major system change.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting procurement activity across a large transformation programme
  • Analysing spend data to support cost control and informed decision-making
  • Preparing tender and mini-competition documentation and supporting contract set-up
  • Assisting with the creation and maintenance of supplier catalogues
  • Gathering and coordinating commercial, technical and legal information
  • Working with data teams to support procurement data migration
  • Supporting users transitioning from Legacy finance systems to a new platform
  • Ensuring adherence to procurement policies, governance and controls
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Recent experience working in a procurement environment
  • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, particularly procurement
  • Experience using computerised finance systems
  • Confident data analysis skills, including strong Excel capability
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive, analytical mindset with the confidence to challenge existing processes
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
  • An understanding of governance, control and risk
