Your new role
As a Digital Learning Technologist, you will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and delivery of high-quality blended and online learning. Working closely with professional services teams, you will provide expert guidance on digital pedagogy and learning technologies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Enhancing the use of the virtual learning environment (VLE) and associated technologies to improve the student experience
- Supporting programme teams in designing and delivering engaging online and blended learning provision
- Delivering training, workshops, and guidance to build staff capability in digital learning tools and approaches
- Providing specialist advice on digital learning design, assessment, and technology integration
- Supporting the transition to a new learning platform, ensuring effective adoption and implementation
- Promoting innovation and best practice in digital education while ensuring compliance with accessibility, copyright, and data protection standards
This is a varied role offering the opportunity to contribute to both short-term initiatives and long-term digital transformation projects.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise, educational insight, and strong stakeholder engagement skills:
- Degree-level education (or equivalent) with evidence of ongoing professional development
- Proven experience supporting digital technologies in education, including blended or online learning delivery
- Experience of using learning technologies and digital assessment tools, as well as delivering training or workshops
- Strong understanding of learning design, and learning technologies
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-specialist audiences
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
Desirable experience includes relevant professional certifications (eg CMALT), knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design, and involvement in cross-functional or large-scale projects.
