Your new company is a government organisation based in Taunton. This role is hybrid, but you must live locally to Taunton. The role is for 6 months - Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. This role provides support to the Global Publishing Team, particularly Maritime Advisors and Content Editors. The post holder supports the migration of data from published books into a geospatial system used to deliver products to the maritime market, including Sailing Directions.

Your new role includes:

  • Completing activities to contribute towards the migration of Sailing Directions' data from published paper volumes into a geospatial database, under the direction of Maritime Advisors & Content Editors.
  • Supporting the updating of geospatial product databases for the end customer.
  • Supporting the completion of weekly update tasks when allocated.

No content or copywriting experience needed!

What you'll need to succeed:

  • An understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or interest in this area.
  • Good IT skills with experience of learning and applying new, non-MS software packages.
  • Internet search skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Some experience of proofreading/document checking.
