Hays NI are currently representing an established NI-based Building & Engineering contractor who are seeking to add an experienced Finishing Foreperson to their team. This firm is one of Northern Ireland's leading medium-sized Civils and Building contractors who specialise in delivering schemes across the province to both private & Public Sector Clients. This company has established themselves as an award-winning employer that boasts a busy order book for the duration of 2026 and beyond and has an excellent record of delivering projects across a range of sectors, including Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Leisure & Tourism, Community, Industrial and Utilities.
Your new role
This company is currently seeking the services of an experienced Finishing Foreperson to join them on an ongoing commercial scheme based in Co. Tyrone, initially on a temporary basis. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for managing daily site operations, coordinating trades, and supervising subcontractors to ensure that all work is completed to specification, on time, and in line with health and safety standards. You will be responsible for maintaining quality control, and to ensure compliance with building regulations and client requirements. You'll also be expected to liaise with project managers, resolve any issues that arise during construction, and keep accurate progress reports. You will be a confident communicator with solid internals experience and a talent for motivating teams and keeping projects on track. This is initially a temporary role with scope for up to a year's work in the heart of Co. Tyrone.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this role, you must have relevant experience of working on fast-paced building schemes at the head of site teams, preferably within commercial projects. You will be a self-starter, with a can-do attitude and a good level of organisation. You will possess a high level of communication and be responsible for ensuring the site team are briefed daily on the scheduled works programme. You will be able to motivate the team to ensure works is carried out promptly and all reports are addressed. Furthermore, you must hold a valid CSR (Site Supervisor), CSCS or SMSTS certification along with a valid First Aid certificate. You will be available to start at short notice.
