Your new role As a Finance Officer (Band 3) within the Cash Office at Southwest Acute Hospital, you will support the delivery of a comprehensive cashiering service, ensuring all financial records are maintained accurately and in line with established procedures.
Your duties will include processing cash and card payments, maintaining petty cash, preparing bank lodgements, handling patient property, processing travel expense claims, responding to enquiries from patients, staff and external organisations, and providing general administrative support. You will play a key role in ensuring the secure handling of money and valuables while delivering a professional and customer-focused service.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will have either 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths/Accounts) and at least 1 year's experience in a finance role, or 3 years' administrative experience including 1 year within a finance environment. You will possess strong communication skills, the ability to work to deadlines, and experience working in a busy office setting. Knowledge of general office procedures, basic accounting principles and cash office functions would be advantageous. Experience within a healthcare finance environment is desirable.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a competitive Band 3 salary of £24,225 - £25,796 per annum- £12.42 - £13.23 per hour, along with access to a generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme and a range of flexible working options. This is a 37.5-hour per week position, Monday to Friday, based at South West Acute Hospital. Offers hybrid working. You will also have access to ongoing training and development opportunities within a large and established healthcare organisation.
