Your new company is a well-established and highly regarded M&E contractor with over 25 years' success, seeking an Electrical Pre-Construction Manager to join its growing Projects Division. The business delivers high-quality mechanical and electrical services across healthcare, education, commercial, residential, and infrastructure sectors, with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence across both new-build and refurbishment projects throughout the UK and Ireland.
Your new role involves supporting the coordination and technical delivery of electrical services through the pre-construction phase (RIBA Stages 3-5). Working closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams, you will help ensure designs are coordinated, compliant, buildable, and commercially viable ahead of delivery on site.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Support and contribute to electrical design coordination (RIBA Stages 3-5)
- Review electrical designs to ensure alignment with specifications and employer's requirements
- Assist in identifying value engineering opportunities to improve cost-efficiency and buildability
- Prepare and manage technical submittals and track design information
- Work closely with design consultants and internal teams to support coordinated design delivery
- Contribute to programme tracking through design deliverables and release schedules
- Support procurement of electrical plant, equipment, and specialist subcontractors
- Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations and industry standards
- Attend client and design team meetings as part of the wider project team
What you'll need to succeed:
Essential:
- Minimum 2+ years' experience within building services (electrical), gained within either a consultancy or contractor environment
- Good technical understanding of electrical building services systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, data, and security systems
- Exposure to design coordination, technical submissions, or pre-construction activities
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and manage multiple priorities
Desirable:
- Experience working on contractor-led or Design & Build projects
- Familiarity with BIM/Revit and coordinated design environments
- Understanding of sustainability standards such as BREEAM
- Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree)
