Your new role:

  • Analyse field performance, warranty data, build issues, and cost drivers.
  • Redesign components and assemblies to simplify build and assembly, improve manufacturability and serviceability, increase reliability and durability, and reduce unnecessary complexity.
  • Apply DFM/DFA principles to improve existing machines and influence future product architectures.
  • Support prototype builds, trials, and validation activities on live machines.
  • Own engineering changes through design release and introduction into production.
  • Contribute to new product development by embedding learning from existing platforms into early concept decisions, system layouts, and design standards.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in design engineering, manufacturing engineering, or product development environments.
  • Demonstrated experience improving existing products through redesign, simplification, or engineering optimisation.
  • Practical understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, including tolerances and production constraints.
  • Experience applying DFM/DFA principles to influence design decisions on current products or during early development phases.
  • Experience using 3D CAD and engineering design tools, or a strong interest in developing advanced design and digital validation skills.
  • Exposure to new product development activities, with an interest in influencing designs from early concept through to production.
  • Experience with mobile machinery, heavy equipment, hydraulics, or structural assemblies is beneficial, but not essential.
