Your new role
As the Engineering Maintenance Store Person, you will take full responsibility for the effective management of the engineering stores, ensuring all agreed spares and consumables are available when required. You will maintain accurate stock levels, uphold high housekeeping standards and ensure all systems and processes support efficient stock management. Key duties will include:
- Managing stock control for all engineering parts, consumables and fuels
- Ensuring optimum spare part quantities and identifying critical spares
- Maintaining accurate working systems and databases for all parts
- Ordering spare parts and consumables, and sourcing best-value options
- Conducting regular stock takes and reporting usage trends
- Supporting the Maintenance Manager with updates, including H&S matters
- Managing supplier contact details and procurement of non-stock items
- Collecting and transporting parts using a company vehicle
- Maintaining administration of the PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) system
- Providing cover for other store/warehouse roles when required
- Promoting safe working practices and reporting accidents or near misses
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need strong knowledge of engineering parts, basic IT skills and familiarity with inventory management systems, good communication skills, valid UK driving licence and Forklift operation experience (or willingness to train).
