Your new company HAYS Architecture & Design are proud to be working in collaboration with a home-grown Specialist Contractor in their search for a Design Manager, specifically to head up the Healthcare side of their business. Having carefully nurtured an enviable reputation for technical delivery and solutions to complex projects for over 50 years in operation, they are part of a rising market that will appeal to those looking for something different, but also those with the environment as part of their ethical genetics.

This position would really suit an experienced Architect, Architectural Technologist or Design Manager, with a background in delivering Healthcare projects and an awareness of the nuances of that industry, who is looking for a platformed role to really showcase abilities, in a supported, well-structured organisation who pride themselves on innovation.

Your new role

Reporting to the Head of Design and Technical Services, the Design Manager (Healthcare) will primarily be responsible for leading and managing the design aspect of healthcare projects to ensure that all design solutions fully comply with Employer's Requirements, Contractor's Proposals and meet the specific requirements of healthcare regulations, standards and the needs of patients and healthcare staff. This role will require strong collaboration with design consultants, healthcare professionals, our internal teams and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through to completion. In addition, the Design Manager (Healthcare) will assist in promoting the company's healthcare capability in the UK and Ireland where it is delivering a growing portfolio of exciting healthcare projects.

What you'll need to succeed

Ideally you'll be degree qualified (Architecture or Architectural Technology & Manager etc) with subsequent professional qualification (ARB / RIBA / CIAT etc). You'll have a minimum of 5 years experience working within a Management position within construction design, with at least 3 of these being specifically across Healthcare projects. You'll have a proven track record in overseeing complex workload from concept through to completion, and have a depth of knowledge with regards to healthcare facility regulations, safety standards & infection control protocols (ie HTMs / HMNs). You'll have strong design, technical and problem solving skills, and a solid grasp across design software (BIM / ArchiCAD / Revit) and construction methodologies.

What you'll get in return

A full-time, elevated position with a reputable Specialist Contractor, operating within a compelling niche of construction that continues to broaden both in terms of scope but also possibilities. Indeed as their Design Manager you'll be part of ensuring this growth is sustained, and underpinned by innovation across their sectors, specifically Healthcare. This position commands a Senior Level remuneration and benefits package which will be disclosed as part of the process, but in general this should catch the eye of Architects, Architectural Technologist and Design Managers alike, who are looking for something a bit different with scope for growth and development.
