Your new company is a leading and highly innovative engineering manufacturer based in the Newry area, seeking a motivated Design Engineer to join its expanding design team. Your new role involves working alongside experienced engineers on the design and development of bespoke mechanical products and systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate to gain hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings
  • Assisting with product design, development and continuous improvement projects
  • Supporting prototype development, testing and validation activities
  • Creating and maintaining bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation
  • Collaborating with manufacturing, production and purchasing teams
  • Participating in design reviews and problem-solving activities
  • Ensuring designs meet customer specifications, quality standards and manufacturing requirements

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience using SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD package
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
