Your new company is recruiting for a Deputy Principal Accountant on behalf of the Northern Ireland Civil Service for the Executive Office-Urban Villages, which offers the work/life balance everyone deserves and that hybrid/flexibility needed.
Your new role:
- Assist the Finance and Governance Manager in monitoring the work of the business case team and help prepare complex financial information/modelling in relation to capital project business cases for internal review groups within TEO.
- This would include liaison with economists and finance to provide financial input and financial analysis for a range of high-value, complex capital business cases, including engagement with VAT advisers on a number of projects.
- Assist the Finance and Governance Manager in providing oversight of the revenue funding streams and review financial monitoring/profiling information on community-led and cross-cutting strands of the programme.
- Assist the Finance and Governance Manager to manage and oversee the capital budget associated with the Urban Villages programme (circa £100m).
- This includes providing advice and guidance on the financial transactions and accounting for the transformational projects that are in the pipeline within UV.
- Assist the Finance and Governance Manager in providing strategic financial advice on the Urban Villages programme to the UV Programme Director, SRO, Finance Branch and the Urban Villages Programme Board.
- Assist the Finance and Governance Manager in maintaining and advising on the UV handbook containing processes for grant payments, audit requirements, economic appraisals, financial transactions and governance arrangements.
- Assist the Finance and Governance Manager in managing the Post Project Evaluation of all projects completed within Urban Villages and ensuring guidance is provided in reference to these.

- Active, paying member of an accredited accountancy body (ACA/ACCA/CIMA etc.) or to be of an equivalent qualification standard.
