Your new company is a leading and growing organisation seeking an ambitious Project Accountant to join its expanding Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This newly created position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping strategic decisions, supporting major business projects and driving commercial performance across a diverse group operation. Your new role involves working as part of a collaborative FP&A team, partnering closely with senior stakeholders across finance, operations and commercial functions to deliver meaningful financial insight and support strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting strategic and operational projects across the business
- Delivering financial modelling, scenario analysis and investment appraisals
- Preparing business cases for new growth opportunities and capital investments
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning activities
- Monitoring project performance against budgets and forecasts
- Analysing profitability, margins, stock performance and operational KPIs
- Providing insightful variance analysis and commentary
- Supporting post-investment reviews and project evaluations
- Developing management reporting, dashboards and FP&A processes
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Supporting business transformation, integration and continuous improvement initiatives
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple business functions
To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or be at finalist level)
- Previous experience within FP&A, Project Accounting, Commercial Finance, Management Accounting or Financial Analysis
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
- Excellent commercial awareness and business partnering skills
- The ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
