Your new company is a growing and highly regarded professional services organisation seeking a Qualified Accountant to join its Financial Reporting and Tax Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and ambitious environment where you will work with a diverse portfolio of clients across the UK, Ireland and international markets. Your new role involves working closely with senior management to manage a varied workload across financial reporting, tax compliance and client advisory services while also providing guidance and support to junior team members. Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing statutory financial statements for individual and group entities
  • Preparing accounts working papers, reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Preparing and submitting UK and Irish corporate and personal tax returns
  • Processing PAYE, payroll reporting, pensions and BIK compliance
  • Preparing and submitting VAT, Intrastat and VIES returns
  • Reviewing bookkeeping assignments and management accounts
  • Supporting compliance requirements including RCT/CIS reporting
  • Managing company secretarial compliance requirements and filings
  • Liaising with banks, advisors, government bodies and regulatory authorities
  • Managing client relationships and service delivery
  • Monitoring WIP and supporting billing processes
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects and client assignments
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members

To be considered for this role, you will ideally possess:

  • ACA, ACCA, CAI or equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant accounting and tax experience
  • Strong knowledge of both UK and Irish tax environments
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines within a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive and commercially focused mindset
  • Experience using accounting and payroll software packages
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and IT skills
  • Experience with platforms such as Xero, CCH, Moneysoft, SimplePay and compliance portals would be advantageous.
