Located in County Tyrone, they have established themselves as an award-winning employer with a growing order book and an excellent record of staff retention and progression opportunities. Specialising in renewables, substations, rail projects, and long-term civils frameworks, they offer excellent opportunities.
Currently seeking to hire a Project Manager to join their Civil Engineering team on a permanent basis, this contractor has a new project due to commence shortly involving civil engineering and renewables work on the construction of a new electrical substation. The company prides itself on excellent delivery and assures the successful Project Manager a long-term career that can develop further as you progress with the business.
Your new role: You will need to be an organised individual with previous civil engineering management experience, ideally in sub-station work or the heavy civil/renewable sector. This role will be based in the office 3 days a week, with 2 days on site to ensure the smooth running of the contract, focusing on design management and maintaining contractual and quality levels. Your project will cover everything from initial groundwork, utilities, and all civil engineering and utility-related tasks, as well as some industrial construction. You will oversee the successful delivery of the schemes, programming works, appointing/overseeing subcontractors, and managing client demands. Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of maintaining positive working relationships are essential. This role will require travel within Ireland, with the option of a commute twice a week or 1 overnight stay per week.
What you'll need to succeed: Previous experience in a similar role is required, ideally with a degree in Civil or Construction Management and strong construction/civils management experience. Applicants with different educational paths should not be deterred if they meet the experience requirements. A technical civil engineering background is necessary, along with experience in controlling site budgets, planning work, and delivering projects on time. The employer will favour individuals who have worked on renewable energy projects, such as windfarms or battery storage projects.
