Your new company Hays Engineering are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and rapidly growing engineering business operating across the UK and Ireland. As a recognised industry leader in building automation and control solutions, our client delivers innovative engineering systems to a diverse range of commercial and industrial projects. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, an opportunity has arisen for a Control Panel Design Engineer to join their expanding Projects team.
Your New Role
As a Control Panel Design Engineer, you will play a key role in transforming customer requirements into bespoke control panel solutions for building management systems. Your automation responsibilities will include:
- Designing bespoke control panels based on customer specifications
- Producing detailed electrical schematic drawings for manufacture
- Liaising with mechanical and electrical contractors throughout project delivery
- Supporting the manufacturing team with accurate technical documentation
- Assisting with system testing, fault finding and continuous design improvements
- Ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- Previous experience within BMS, HVAC, Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation or Process Control
- Proven electrical design experience with the ability to develop schematic drawings for manufacture
- Experience using electrical CAD software such as EPLAN, WS CAD, Promis, SolidWorks Electrical or similar
- A strong understanding of electrical control systems and instrumentation
- The ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders
- Experience within controls, automation or instrumentation design would be highly advantageous.
