Your new company is a well-established and growing business, seeking a hands-on Management Accountant to join its Head Office finance team based in Darlington. This role offers genuine ownership and accountability, ideal for a commercially minded accountant who enjoys getting into the detail while also influencing operational performance. You will have full ownership of the accounts, undertaking end-to-end management accounts preparation, acting as a trusted finance partner to operational stakeholders and playing a key role in driving efficiencies and, in turn, profitability.
Your new role reports into an experienced Finance leadership team, combining core management accounting with commercial insight and stakeholder engagement.
- Full ownership of P&Ls and balance sheets
- Preparation and posting of monthly journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts and investigating discrepancies
- Supporting month-end close and production of monthly management accounts
- Detailed variance analysis against budget and forecast
- Supporting 'what if' scenario modelling and forecasting
