Your new company Hays are working in partnership with a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation based in County Tyrone, who are seeking a Buyer to support ongoing production and operational requirements. This is a site-based role within a fast-paced environment where procurement plays a critical role in business continuity.

Your new role

  • Purchase consumables and materials to support day-to-day production
  • Maintain stock levels and place orders to avoid shortages
  • Manage supplier orders, including long lead-time items
  • Process approved purchase orders through the ERP system
  • Liaise with suppliers on pricing, delivery, and performance
  • Support cost control and identify savings where possible
  • Work closely with internal teams to meet operational needs
  • Produce basic procurement and supplier performance reports
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and health & safety procedures

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a buying or procurement role
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing or operational environment
  • Experience using purchasing or ERP systems
  • Able to work with suppliers on pricing, orders, and deliveries
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Confident using Excel and basic reporting tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with different teams
  • Ability to manage priorities and work independently
  • Relevant qualification or practical experience in supply chain, business, or manufacturing (desirable)
