Your new company Hays are working in partnership with a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation based in County Tyrone, who are seeking a Buyer to support ongoing production and operational requirements. This is a site-based role within a fast-paced environment where procurement plays a critical role in business continuity.
Your new role
- Purchase consumables and materials to support day-to-day production
- Maintain stock levels and place orders to avoid shortages
- Manage supplier orders, including long lead-time items
- Process approved purchase orders through the ERP system
- Liaise with suppliers on pricing, delivery, and performance
- Support cost control and identify savings where possible
- Work closely with internal teams to meet operational needs
- Produce basic procurement and supplier performance reports
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and health & safety procedures
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a buying or procurement role
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or operational environment
- Experience using purchasing or ERP systems
- Able to work with suppliers on pricing, orders, and deliveries
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Confident using Excel and basic reporting tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with different teams
- Ability to manage priorities and work independently
- Relevant qualification or practical experience in supply chain, business, or manufacturing (desirable)
