Your new role
As a Legal Secretary on a 12-month FTC, you will provide proactive, high-quality support to busy fee-earners across a range of administrative and organisational tasks. Your role will be varied and impactful, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations within the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing diaries, scheduling meetings, booking conference/video calls and arranging travel as required.
- Monitoring fee-earner inboxes in their absence, responding where appropriate and coordinating meeting rooms and hospitality.
- Handling incoming telephone calls professionally, taking accurate messages and ensuring timely follow-up.
- Managing document workflows, including formatting, amending, proofreading, copy-typing, digital dictation and handling PDF/Word conversions.
- Supporting document production, maintaining files, indexing legal documents and creating short PowerPoint presentations.
- Assisting with expenses, entering business contact information and liaising with Business Development, Marketing, Events and Finance teams.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Strong IT literacy across Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in administrative support roles in a professional services environment is essential.
- Excellent communication and client care skills, with the confidence to engage professionally at all levels.
- Outstanding organisational abilities, with a calm and efficient approach to prioritising workloads.
- Flexibility and adaptability, including a willingness to work additional hours when needed.
- A growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
