Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, a leading building services contractor is seeking an experienced BIM Project Lead to join their expanding BIM function, based from their Dundalk office. This is a key position responsible for managing MEP BIM coordination across multiple large-scale projects throughout Ireland, the UK and Europe, spanning sectors including decarbonisation, renewable energy, data centres, healthcare, commercial, high-rise residential, education and aviation.
Your new role
- Join a growing BIM team and take the lead on project delivery from a BIM perspective, ensuring models and drawings are coordinated, accurate and aligned with project requirements and programme milestones.
- Lead BIM strategy and delivery across assigned projects.
- Understand and deliver project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
- Manage BIM resources, workloads and project deadlines.
- Act as the main BIM point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Oversee multidisciplinary model coordination (MEP, architectural and structural).
- Carry out and manage clash detection and design issue resolution.
- Maintain model quality, standards, document control and change management.
- Produce and review high-quality drawings for client and construction use.
- Participate directly in model development where required, particularly on complex elements.
- Chair BIM coordination meetings and report progress to senior management.
- Support continuous improvement of BIM processes and team capability.
- Mentor and develop BIM technicians and coordinators within the team.
- Support the use and integration of BIM with additional tools such as Dynamo.
- Oversee 4D / 5D / 6D BIM processes where applicable.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experienced BIM professional with strong technical capability and proven leadership experience within a building services or MEP environment.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a BIM coordination / BIM lead role.
- Strong background delivering large commercial MEP projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
- Experience using Navisworks for clash detection and coordination.
- Strong understanding of MEP, architectural and structural coordination.
- Confident communicating with designers, contractors and project teams.
- Ability to manage priorities, people and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
- Relevant third-level qualification (Building Services, Architectural Engineering, Construction or similar).
- Familiarity with 4D, 5D or 6D BIM workflows.
- Knowledge of scripting / automation (e.g. Dynamo or Python).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Local to Dundalk or within a reasonable commuting distance.
