A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Ventilation Ductwork Estimator to join a well-established contractor in Newtownabbey. This role is ideal for someone with a mechanical background who enjoys producing accurate tenders, working closely with suppliers, and contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality ventilation and ductwork projects.
As a Ventilation Ductwork Estimator, you will play a key part in the pre-construction process, preparing accurate and competitive tenders while ensuring all documentation is delivered on time. You'll review enquiries, assess drawings, engage with suppliers, and help ensure pricing aligns with technical and commercial requirements. This is a great opportunity for someone organised, detail-orientated and confident working both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Review tender enquiries and fully understand specifications and project requirements
- Log and organise all documentation and drawings in line with company procedures
- Measure, quantify and price mechanical/ductwork packages from drawings or BoQs
- Request and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Collate all tender information and maintain accurate estimate files
- Identify commercial or technical risks and opportunities
- Assist in preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation
- Produce tender letters of offer with clear inclusions and exclusions
- Contribute to proposal documents when required
- Work collaboratively on major tenders or independently on smaller packages
What you'll need to succeed:
- Time-served mechanical apprenticeship (essential)
- Minimum 1 year's experience in mechanical or ventilation estimating
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident using Microsoft Office
- Clear, methodical approach to work
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
