Your new company Hays are partnering with a well-established organisation operating within the domestic energy and utilities sector to recruit a Sales Manager to join their commercial team.

Your new role In this role, you will take ownership of the domestic sales function, leading and developing a field-based sales team to deliver growth across the residential market. You will be responsible for driving new connections, retaining existing customers and strengthening relationships across the trade supply chain, including installers, merchants and manufacturing. You will manage sales performance, forecasting and reporting, while working closely with internal teams to support marketing activity, training initiatives and the delivery of decarbonisation and low-carbon programmes. The role will involve regular engagement in the field, ensuring strong visibility, effective coaching and consistent standards, while supporting the wider transition within the domestic energy market.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Recent experience in a sales management or sales leadership role (within the last 3 years)
  • Proven background in field-based sales, ideally within utilities, energy, construction or a trade-led environment
  • Demonstrable experience leading, coaching and managing underperforming sales teams
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to forecast, track performance and drive results
  • Experience working with trade partners, contractors or installer networks
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate confidently within a regulated or complex environment
  • Full UK driving licence
  • A relevant third-level qualification or equivalent professional experience
