Your new role
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you'll lead electrical engineering design and delivery on major water sector projects. From treatment works to pumping stations and network upgrades, you'll ensure technical excellence and compliance across the full project lifecycle - from concept design through to construction set quality standards, manage budgets and timelines, and collaborate with electrical specialists and project stakeholders across the UK and internationally to deliver robust, efficient solutions that meet the highest industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical design work in accordance with UK and industry standards.
- Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals.
- Manage budgets and schedules to achieve project milestones.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards in all deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
What you'll need to succeed
- Chartered Electrical Engineer with strong experience in electrical design leadership.
- Extensive knowledge of LV and HV systems, MCCs/switchgear, industrial/process installations, HAZOP assessments, DSEAR/ATEX compliance, SLD/BCD production, earthing and bonding.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as Trimble/Amtech.
- Familiarity with UK water industry standards and electrical engineering practices within complex project environments.
- Open to professionals with combined experience such as Water Nuclear or Water Oil & Gas, bringing transferable skills and sector knowledge.
