The Company Hays is pleased to partner with a leading Top 20 Accounting firm to recruit a key role within their Payroll Project Operations team, based in the heart of Belfast. This position offers an attractive hybrid working arrangement, with two days per week in the office. Due to continued growth and upcoming project demands, this role requires an immediate appointment, and early applications are strongly encouraged for a mid-January start. Candidates seeking temporary opportunities will also be considered, with the potential for the role to transition into a permanent position.

About the Role

The primary responsibility of a payroll project executive is to support the team in managing the day-to-day project delivery for high-profile multinational clients, liaising with international offices, and the in-house team of payroll project managers, seniors, project executives, and portal administrators.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Monitor project deliverables on a daily basis, ensuring all tasks are completed on time;
  • Review issue logs on a weekly basis and discuss with the relevant Project Manager; escalating in a timely manner;
  • Control and monitor tickets via the appropriate system;
  • Setting up team’s conference calls;
  • Preparation of monthly reports SLA’s/Metrics;
  • Recording task and time accurately on the appropriate timesheet system;
  • Support other team members in the following tasks: Build and maintain client documentation; Support with preparation of payroll calendars/deadline timetables on an annual basis; Other general administrative tasks; Control project calls; and Maintain and update issue logs.

Your Experience and Skills

Essential Criteria:

  • Graduate or equivalent qualification, or payroll foundation experience;
  • 1-year project management experience, preferably in a financial services firm or similar environment;
  • Excellent project planning skills;
  • Attention to detail is a key part of the role;
  • Efficient & deadline driven;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication;
  • Experience of accurate minute taking;
  • Proactive and forward-thinking;
  • Ability to multi-task between projects;
  • Full control of calendar and associated tasks with multiple deadlines.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Prince 2 qualified or similar qualification.
