Based in Belfast city centre, this established practice acts on behalf of a diverse client base and is recognised for its expertise in complex litigation. To support continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Litigation Secretary to join their busy and supportive team.

Your new role

Working closely with solicitors within a fast-paced litigation department, you will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to ensure the smooth progression of cases. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Audio and copy typing of legal correspondence and documentation
  • Managing solicitor diaries, appointments and court schedules
  • Preparing court papers, legal bundles and briefs
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, experts and third parties
  • Opening, maintaining and closing legal files
  • Monitoring key deadlines and ensuring compliance with court timetables
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries professionally
  • Assisting with billing, file management and general administration
  • Maintaining accurate case management and document records

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • Previous experience as a Litigation Secretary, Legal Secretary or within a similar legal support role
  • Excellent typing and document production skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy legal environment
  • Experience supporting litigation teams handling personal injury, insurance litigation, disease, casualty or motor matters would be highly advantageous.
