This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated Building Surveyor looking to further develop their career within a thriving consultancy. As part of an experienced Building Surveying team, you will be involved in delivering a broad range of professional and project services to an established client base. You will work closely with clients, contractors, design consultants, and internal multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical and professional standards.
The successful candidate will contribute to a wide variety of building surveying commissions, including:
- Conducting building surveys, condition surveys, and defect diagnosis reports.
- Delivering refurbishment, fit-out, repair, and maintenance projects.
- Acting as Contract Administrator on construction projects.
- Managing projects from inception through to completion.
- Undertaking feasibility studies and project appraisals.
- Advising clients on building regulations, statutory compliance, and construction best practice.
- Supporting planned maintenance strategies and life cycle asset management programmes.
- Managing project budgets, programmes, risks, and stakeholder communications.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project teams.
- Contributing to business development activities and helping to identify new opportunities within existing client accounts.
You will have the opportunity to work across multiple sectors and project types, providing excellent exposure and variety while developing both your technical and client-facing capabilities.
What You'll Need to Succeed
The successful candidate will be an accomplished Building Surveyor with a strong technical background and a passion for delivering high-quality consultancy. Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related built environment discipline. Full UK driving licence desirable.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a Building Surveying role, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- Strong technical delivery experience across both professional and project-based surveying services.
- Good working knowledge of JCT contracts and contract administration procedures.
- Proven track record of managing projects from inception through to successful completion.
- Experience liaising with a range of stakeholders including clients, consultants, contractors, and statutory bodies.
- Strong report writing, specification preparation, and technical advisory skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering work to challenging deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of client objectives and project drivers.
- Client-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
