Your new company Hays Belfast are pleased to be working in partnership with an NI-based civil engineering and construction firm dedicated to delivering durable, community-focused infrastructure. They operate across a broad range of services, including groundworks, site development, drainage, concrete structures, environmental restoration, and public-realm improvements. The company emphasises innovation in its construction practices and aims to create resilient systems and spaces that positively impact the regions it serves. Its project experience spans wastewater and treatment-works upgrades, landfill capping and environmental restoration, public-realm enhancements in towns and city centres, sports and recreational facilities, and water-main rehabilitation. This company is imminently commencing a number of new construction projects.
As a result of recent successful bidding, this firm is now seeking the services of a freelance Site Foreperson to join them on upcoming commercial extensions. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of a timber-frame extension in North Belfast and a steel-frame extension in Craigavon. Backed by a team of engineering experts, you will lead the team on two live projects, supervising subcontractors, providing technical expertise and adhering to health and safety regulations.
A successful foreperson will ideally come from a trade background - your technical experience will be a key factor in the successful delivery of the upcoming schemes. You will be responsible for driving the projects on, ensuring key time and budget targets are met whilst managing subcontractors and client expectations. Previous experience managing construction projects from brick and blockwork through to completion as Site No.1 is essential, with demonstrable knowledge of overseeing bricklayers, cladding and internal trades. As this project is imminently commencing, you will be finishing up a current project or available immediately. Furthermore, you must hold a valid CSR (Site Supervisor), CSCS or SMSTS qualification.
This is an opportunity for an available foreperson looking for a contract/freelance role to secure work through Summer 2026, ideal for any individual based in or commutable to Belfast or North Co. The company offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity for possible further, longer-term work in Northern Ireland following the initial contract.
