Your new company Hays are delighted to be working exclusively with the Utility Regulator to recruit a Finance Officer to join their team in Belfast. The Utility Regulator is a highly regarded public sector organisation responsible for protecting the interests of energy and water consumers across Northern Ireland.
Your new role As Finance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance function within the organisation. The role will involve working closely with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring compliance with organisational policies and public sector financial regulations.
- Processing invoices, payments and expense claims
- Supporting month-end accounts and reconciliations
- Assisting with budgeting, reporting and Department of Finance returns
- Maintaining financial systems, contracts and databases
- Supporting procurement administration and tender processes
- Contributing to audit activity and ensuring compliance with policies
- Managing finance queries and building strong stakeholder relationships
You will also contribute to continuous improvement across finance processes, supporting the development and implementation of policies and ensuring adherence to best practice.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Be AAT / ATI qualified (Level 5), or part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent)
- Have at least 2 years' experience in a similar finance role
