You will be joining a well-established public-sector organisation that plays an important role in overseeing essential services and ensuring strong standards of governance, financial stewardship and accountability.
Your new role
- Handle day-to-day finance tasks, including invoice processing, staff expenses and payment runs.
- Support procurement administration and maintain accurate contract and documentation records.
- Prepare sales invoices and assist with debt-recovery activity when required.
- Help with month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, journals, VAT and audit preparation.
- Assist with budget monitoring, producing variance information and supporting financial reporting.
- Maintain compliance with finance procedures and contribute to updating internal policies.
- Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure smooth financial operations.
What you'll need to succeed
- A recognised accounting qualification such as ATI, AAT, or part-qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA (or equivalent), plus a minimum of two years' relevant experience in a similar finance role.
- Experience managing payment processes, month-end responsibilities and working confidently to tight deadlines.
- Strong experience using computerised finance systems and advanced Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
