Your new company: A membership body is recruiting for an employment solicitor based in Belfast.
Your new role: You will join the organisation as a part-time Employment Solicitor (17.5 hours per week) on an initial three-month temporary contract, with potential for extension. The role will focus on the end-to-end management of a portfolio of Employment Tribunal claims, including advising on risk and strategy, meeting Tribunal deadlines, drafting pleadings, managing disclosure, supporting settlement discussions and preparing matters for hearing or counsel. Working closely with HR and senior stakeholders, you will ensure cases are progressed efficiently and to a high standard, providing flexible support within a busy in-house legal team.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister (or equivalent), with strong experience in employment law
- Proven experience handling Employment Tribunal cases from issue through to resolution
- Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
- Strong drafting, advisory and stakeholder-management skills
- Prior in-house or public-sector experience is advantageous but not essential.
What you'll get in return:
- Based in Belfast
- £50,754 (pro rata)
- Hourly rate: £27.89
- Temporary post for 3 months with possible extension
- Part-time: 17.5 hours
