Hays Education are working with a school based on the Wirral who are adding to their site team with someone who will act as gardener and carry out grounds maintenance. This role is full-time, starting asap. If you are self-motivated and enjoy working outdoors in all weather, then this school gardener post is ideal for you.

Your new role

Reporting to the site manager, this school gardener post involves working Monday-Friday. Day to day duties include:

  • Litter picking and ensuring the grounds are clean and tidy
  • Mowing and turfing
  • Planting
  • Cutting back branches/ tree maintenance
  • Marking and maintaining sports pitches
  • Support with general maintenance as the team needs

What you'll need to succeed

Since this job is based in a school, you will need to complete an enhanced DBS as part of your registration process. You will be proactive, and able to work independently in all weathers. You will be confident using maintenance equipment safely, e.g. mowers and leaf blowers, and will have a proven record of maintaining outdoor areas.
