Your new role As Project Assistant (Labour Market Partnership), you will support the delivery of key economic development initiatives that contribute directly to the Council's priority of Growing the Economy. Reporting to the Skills and Entrepreneurship Manager, you will provide project, research and administrative support across the Labour Market Partnership programme and related economic development projects. This hands-on role will see you coordinating activity with internal teams and external partners, supporting funded projects, monitoring performance and financial data, and assisting with events, reporting and communications.
- Providing day-to-day project support to facilitate the delivery of the Labour Market Partnership programme and associated economic development initiatives
- Assisting with the coordination, monitoring and delivery of funded projects, ensuring compliance with Council and external funder requirements
- Undertaking research into economic trends, policy developments and best practice to support project development and decision-making
- Collating, maintaining and analysing performance and financial data, preparing reports for internal management, funders and audit purposes
- Supporting the preparation and submission of funding claims to external bodies
- Liaising with internal departments, delivery partners and key stakeholders to support effective project delivery and partnership working
- Assisting with the organisation and delivery of business, community and stakeholder events, workshops and engagement activities
- Maintaining accurate project records, databases and administrative systems in line with governance and funding requirements
- Supporting communication and promotional activity in collaboration with Marketing and Communications colleagues to achieve project KPIs
- Contributing to a collaborative and high-performing Economic Development team
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- A third-level qualification and at least one year's relevant experience in economic development or project support OR a minimum of three years' relevant experience in lieu of qualifications
- Experience supporting economic development or similar projects, including research, monitoring and reporting
- The ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload
- Experience handling performance and financial information accurately
- A good understanding of the economic development policy environment and business support initiatives
- A full UK driving licence and access to transport (or suitable alternative arrangements under DDA)
