Your new company A well-established and innovative manufacturing business is seeking a Design & Manufacturing Engineer (R&D) to join its engineering team.

Your new role This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys a varied role spanning product design, research and development, manufacturing support, and process improvement.
You'll be responsible for developing new and existing products from concept through to production, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams in a hands-on environment.
The role will also support the optimisation of recently installed advanced manufacturing equipment, offering excellent exposure to cutting-edge CNC punching and press brake duties will include: Producing CAD drawings and CAM files to support manufacturing operations.
Designing, developing and testing new and existing products.
Supporting production teams with technical solutions and product improvements.
Creating technical drawings for customers, suppliers and internal use.
Developing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated documentation.
Updating and improving parametric CAD models.
Sourcing materials and components for new product development projects.
Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Supporting the commissioning, optimisation and ongoing development of advanced manufacturing equipment.
Working closely with production operators to implement engineering improvements and lean manufacturing practices.
What you'll need to succeed Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 2 years' experience within a Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Product Development role.
Experience using CAD and CAM software packages such as Solid Edge, Lantek or similar.
Understanding of product design, stress analysis and engineering principles.
Familiarity with Python within a CAD/CAM environment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple functions.
