As a maintenance engineer, you will play a core role within our multi-skilled Engineering Team to optimise the performance of automated production filling and packing machinery and ancillary services. Reporting to the site Engineering Manager, your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing continuous process improvement projects
- Routine preventative maintenance
- Ensuring that equipment is properly set and maintained
- Fault diagnosis and running adjustments/repairs as necessary
- Overhauling mechanical plant and machinery
- General building fabric repairs
- Maintaining and monitoring consumption of M&E utilities
- Providing support for the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
This role is based on a rotating (12 hour) shift pattern that repeats 5 weekly. Weeks 1 - 3 of the pattern are on days, with a 05:30 start and weeks 4 - 5 are on nights, with a 17:30 start.
This opportunity calls for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer with first-rate communication skills who will be a hands-on, results-oriented individual and who can demonstrate their skills, energy and ability to multitask effectively. Candidates should possess significant, recent and relevant experience to the role, ideally at least 3 years post apprenticeship. Candidates should also have undertaken an engineering apprenticeship/training programme.
