A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate Director - Mechanical to join their expanding Belfast office. This is a senior leadership opportunity to manage a team of mechanical engineers and technicians while delivering innovative engineering and sustainability solutions on major projects, some valued up to £200 million. The firm has a strong presence across the UK and EU and specialises in a wide range of sectors including large-scale residential, industrial/logistics, retail and commercial.
The Role: This is a critical project and technical leadership role which will see you managing a small team of engineers and technicians and driving outstanding commercial engineering and sustainability outcomes on a range of high-value projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing fee bids and presentations for new work.
- Communicating directly with customers, project teams and outsourced delivery teams.
- Develop relationships with new and existing customers.
- Lead the mechanical discipline on projects or as project leader, taking ownership for project deliverables.
- Managing the day-to-day workload of engineers and technicians.
- Prepare technical calculations, reports, designs, drawings and specifications.
- Monitor the financial performance of projects as well as setting up and managing administrative systems, project resource planning, expenditure and WIP management.
- Undertake project technical/quality reviews and attend design reviews/team meetings as needed for the smooth operation of the project(s).
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Associate or Associate Director in building services.
- Strong technical background in mechanical systems design and delivery.
- Chartered Engineer status and a degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership on large-scale, complex projects.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Proficient in digital design tools and BIM environments.
