Hays Engineering are delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturing organisation based in County Armagh to recruit a Graduate Design Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineering graduate to join a well-established business known for innovation, quality, and investment in people. Working within a supportive engineering team, you will receive hands-on training and development while contributing to the design and development of industry-leading products.
Your New Role
As a Graduate Design Engineer, you will support the design and development of new and existing products from concept through to manufacture. Working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, you will gain exposure to a wide range of engineering activities and play a key role in delivering innovative engineering solutions.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using CAD software
- Assisting with product design, development and continuous improvement projects
- Supporting prototype development, testing and validation activities
- Preparing engineering documentation, BOMs and technical specifications
- Collaborating with production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable
- Supporting design reviews and problem-solving activities
- Assisting with technical calculations and engineering analysis
- Ensuring projects are completed to quality, cost and timescale requirements
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong interest in design, manufacturing and product development
- Knowledge of 3D CAD software gained through university projects or placements
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
- Placement or internship experience within an engineering environment would be advantageous but is not essential
