Your new company Hays Engineering are working in partnership with a well-established and highly regarded manufacturing organisation based in County Down to recruit a Design Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative business with a strong presence in the Agricultural and Construction sectors. The company has a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality, cost-effective machinery and continues to invest in research, development, and continuous improvement.
Your new role As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of new and existing products, contributing to innovative engineering solutions and continuous product improvement. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing machinery using SolidWorks
- Collaborating with production teams to resolve technical challenges
- Engaging with customers to address design-related queries and improvements
- Producing detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles
- Supporting prototype testing and implementing design enhancements
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and best practices
What you'll need to succeed:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience using CAD software, ideally SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and engineering principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Strong communication skills, both internal and customer-facing
