This role provides exposure to a wide range of projects within a live operational environment, alongside access to an international network of professionals and innovative infrastructure programmes.
Your New Role
As a Project Engineer within the Building team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of strategically important infrastructure projects across both operational and non-operational environments. These projects will include building extensions, refurbishments, upgrades, and reconfigurations. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will be responsible for supervising works, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with programme, quality, safety, environmental, and budget requirements.
Key responsibilities will include supporting the design, procurement, construction, and handover of projects, while acting as the day-to-day point of contact for contractors and internal stakeholders. You will coordinate communications, lead regular briefings, and contribute to planning through lookahead schedules and reporting. You will also play an active role in maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and company requirements. The role will involve troubleshooting issues and working collaboratively with internal departments, consultants, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery. Flexibility will be required to support out-of-hours work where necessary within a live operational environment.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful, you will have experience in construction, engineering, or building project delivery, ideally within a live or complex operational environment. You will demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities. A good understanding of project delivery processes, health and safety standards, and construction regulations is essential. You should be proactive, solutions-focused, and capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
