If you are keen to pursue a career in maintenance engineering and are technically minded, this role could prove to be the perfect platform to build upon, especially if you have not pursued an apprenticeship. Our client is looking for a junior maintenance technician / engineer to support their production operation.
Core duties and responsibilities whilst on shift will include, but are not limited to:
- Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to ensure high operational standards, including welding rectifiers, wire feed units, robots, assembly jigs, laser cutting machines.
- Provide reactive maintenance to plant equipment as needed i.e. Troubleshooting and repair of machinery in the factory.
- Fabrication of equipment upgrades.
- Receive support tickets for breakdowns and see them through to completion.
- Ordering of spares.
- Stock taking of spares.
- Communicate with colleagues, external contractors and suppliers to ensure plant equipment uptime.
- Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
What You'll Need To Succeed
In order to be considered for this role the following skills and experience are desirable:
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Ability and willingness to work at heights.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- A team player with the ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Health and safety awareness.
What You'll Get In Return
This role offers an attractive day shift pattern without weekends. The regular hours of work are Monday - Thursday 07:00 - 16:00 + Friday 07:00 - 13:00. The starting salary on the role is Β£29120 with enhanced OT rates also available to supplement your earning potential.
