Your new role: As Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the senior finance team by taking ownership of core finance operations, delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, and driving improved financial performance across the business. You will oversee month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are achieved and outputs are reliable and insightful. You will lead on the preparation of management accounts, contribute to group reporting, and provide meaningful analysis to explain financial performance and key variances. A significant part of the role will focus on strengthening financial controls, improving processes, and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. You will work closely with operational teams, offering financial guidance and supporting better commercial decision-making. You will also act as a key point of contact for external auditors throughout the year-end process, support system developments, and ensure compliance with financial standards and internal policies. In addition, you will lead and develop a small finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and continuous development.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance role within an engineering, construction or manufacturing environment
- Strong background in financial reporting, management accounts, and audit processes
- Experience improving financial controls, systems, and processes
- Confident analysing financial data and communicating insights to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring a team
- Experience working with systems and driving system improvements
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
