Your new company Hays are partnering with a global manufacturing organisation to recruit a Buyer to join their established procurement team in Newtownabbey.

Your new role You will support both the operational and strategic aspects of purchasing, managing supplier relationships and ensuring materials are available to meet production demands. You will raise and manage purchase orders, monitor inventory levels, and maintain accurate supplier data. Alongside this, you will take ownership of key commodities, supporting sourcing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and driving cost and process improvements. You will work closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and contribute to wider supply chain performance and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Recent experience in a Buyer or Procurement role
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong organisational and time management ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • A relevant third-level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Desirable: Experience working with mechanical, electronic or injection moulded components
