Your new company
Our client is a leading law firm with a reputation for excellence in complex litigation, committed to delivering outstanding client service to some of the nation's largest insurance providers, businesses, and suppliers by offering robust defence strategies in cases involving catastrophic personal injury. They remain a trusted strategic partner for their clientele by combining technical expertise, leadership, and technology whilst improving processes and services to deliver market-leading outcomes.
Your new role
It is important that you are skilled at independently managing high-value cases, defending complex injury and catastrophic loss claims. You will work closely with a small team, supporting a senior lawyer with their high value complex injury defendant caseloads as well as being fully engaged in developing more junior members of the team. You will delegate appropriately and nurture development for the collaborative achievement of team objectives.

Cases often involve providing detailed analysis of complex liability disputes and/or the indemnity position of various interested parties. Successful candidates will work on cases involving traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, brachial plexus injuries, serious orthopaedic injuries and fatalities.

- Defendant experience is preferable but claimant experience at a sufficient level of expertise and seniority will be considered
- To comfortably research and analyse various legal principles that support your developed understanding of relevant case law, litigation practice/process, and Court Practice Rules
- Strong technical knowledge in assessing liability, quantum issues, procedural issues (e.g. contested interim payment applications)
- Good organisational and IT skills, combined with excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to colleagues, clients, and third parties
What you'll get in return
- Access to continuous learning and professional development opportunities within a supportive firm that values integrity and innovation
- 25 days holiday per year which increases with level of service (with the opportunity to buy & sell an additional 3 days)
- Bupa private medical insurance and WeCare 24/7 online GP services
- Discounted memberships
