A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, well established in-house legal team within a large organisation delivering high value commercial, operational and infrastructure projects. The business is undergoing meaningful change, modernising systems and investing significantly in long term programmes. The legal team is known for being down to earth, collaborative and genuinely supportive, with a strong reputation for delivering clear, practical legal advice that helps the wider organisation make confident commercial decisions. Due to sustained growth, they are looking for a Commercial Solicitor to join on a permanent basis.
As a Commercial Solicitor, you'll play an important part in supporting the organisation's commercial activity across a broad and varied portfolio of work. This is a hands on, business facing role where you'll work closely with colleagues in procurement, commercial, operational and project teams.
You will handle a wide range of non contentious commercial matters, including:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts and agreements
- Advising stakeholders on contract structure, risk, and commercial strategy
- Supporting the organisation with procurement related commercial activity
- Leading and managing your own caseload with autonomy and confidence
- Providing strategic, commercially focused legal advice:
- Helping stakeholders understand legal implications in plain, practical language
- Influencing decision making on important business and infrastructure projects
- Identifying and mitigating commercial risks early
- Advising on pre contentious contract issues
- Helping shape practical solutions that minimise risk and avoid escalation
- Working closely with experienced lawyers from different specialisms
- Participating in project groups and advising cross functional teams
- Contributing to continuous improvement in contracting processes and governance
This role offers the opportunity to become deeply involved in interesting, high value commercial arrangements while building strong internal relationships across the organisation.
You'll be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with substantial post-qualification experience in commercial law. You should be comfortable managing a varied caseload and be confident engaging with business stakeholders.
