Hays Education are working in partnership with a caring and inclusive primary school in the WV3 area of Wolverhampton. The school is committed to providing tailored support for pupils with additional needs and is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. You will be supporting a KS1 pupil with ASD on a 1:1 basis, helping them access learning, manage routines and transitions, and engage positively with classroom activities. This role requires patience, empathy, consistency, and the ability to follow personalised strategies set out by the class teacher and SENCo.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing daily 1:1 support to a KS1 child with ASD
  • Implementing strategies to support communication, behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals
  • Supporting with structured routines and sensory needs
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to reviews and planning

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
