We are seeking a calm, patient and emotionally attuned 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with severe emotional anxiety on a one-to-one basis. The child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and requires consistent, nurturing support to help them feel safe, regulated and able to access learning.

This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with SEMH needs, emotional regulation difficulties or high anxiety. The focus of the role is to build trust, provide reassurance and help the child gradually engage with the school environment at a pace that works for them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Supporting the child to manage anxiety, emotional regulation and transitions
  • Creating a calm, predictable and supportive presence
  • Encouraging engagement with learning in a way that feels safe and achievable for the pupil
  • Implementing strategies set out in the EHCP and support plans
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral team
  • Monitoring emotional wellbeing and contributing to progress reviews
