n A newly created Legal Counsel role, focused on broad commercial matters and compliance/data protection infrastructure development.
Reporting into the hugely respected General Counsel & Co Sec, the successful candidate will support the build-out and optimisation of the internal compliance function, encompassing data privacy.
You will manage two non-lawyer professionals, while collaborating with stakeholders across the business to manage/mitigate risk and offer solutions-focused advice to further the business' interests.
Typical work will include negotiating high-value commercial agreements, strategically supporting in developing and maintaining key legal compliance policies and supervising data privacy matters, without needing to be an expert.
n This role will suit a qualified lawyer with training in England & Wales or another major common law jurisdiction, with 3+ PQE or equivalent (as a guide).
Candidates must have strong commercial negotiation experience, alongside an attitude to proactively build relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.
Basic expertise in data privacy matters will be advantageous, as will be the ability to look beyond the legal BAU to support the development of the internal legal infrastructure. n This is a genuine opportunity to build an in-house career within the developed legal function of an international business that has established itself as a market leader in the transport space.
