Your new company is a well-established, award-winning construction business based near Ipswich seeking a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team. Your new role is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their Quantity Surveying career to gain hands-on experience within a supportive and experienced commercial team. You will work closely with senior surveyors and project teams, assisting with:
- Supporting the commercial management of construction projects
- Assisting with cost tracking, valuations and financial reporting
- Supporting procurement of subcontractor packages
- Monitoring project costs and reporting against budgets
- Assisting with variations and account management
- Gaining exposure to both pre-construction and live project environments
This role will give you real responsibility from an early stage, with structured support to help you progress towards becoming a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be on the path to becoming a Quantity Surveyor (degree, HNC/HND or relevant studies)
- Have a genuine interest in construction and commercial management
- Demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills
- Be organised, motivated and eager to learn
- Have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Ideally hold a full UK driving licence
Previous industry experience, placements or site exposure would be advantageous, but not essential.
